Eclipse Of 2017

Hello, Everyone! Sorry, you haven’t heard from me in a while I’ve been busy traveling and getting a taste of what it’ll be like living in the RV. But like all good things it must come to an end.

As the end of August nears so does the return to work for now! ūüėČ I came back¬†just in time for the Eclipse of 2017.

I was so excited to be able to set my camera up and just wait.

Fair warning this is a picture heavy post! It may take a bit to download! You have been warned carry on if you dare!

Well, I’m sure everyone has heard about the big Eclipse on August 21st, 2017. If not, you are hiding under a rock!

Anyway, I don’t live in the path of totality. But I do live in the path of over 80% coverage! I’ll take it. Maybe when the next one comes in 2024 I’ll be here to be in the path of totality.

I just have to say it was amazing!!!

I have never seen a solar eclipse from start to finish before until now! I’m so glad I can say I have!

It took me 50 years but I did it! And I have some amazing photos to prove it!

Of course, I’m biased since I took them!

First, let me tell you a bit about the day.

Here, in Ohio, the day was a beautiful, sunny day and the temperature was¬†the 80’s.

I was sitting in my backyard waiting and catching some rays all at the same time.

Just waiting for the eclipse to start.

Just me and my doggy. Don’t worry we were protected!

Then, it happened the eclipse started!

And BAM!

The clouds started rolling in. They were thin at first which was good since we are talking about the sun, not the moon so it was bright enough to shine through them. But as the eclipse came closer to my 80% totality. The clouds got thicker and that pesky sun kept hiding its beautiful eclipse!

I just kept snapping pictures in hopes that I would catch it popping its little head out. Or that I would get some great shots.

And I did!!

It was a beautiful sight! The pictures almost look more like I was taking pictures of the Moon instead of the Sun!

Well, here are my pictures you be the judge!

They may not be in perfect order FYI!

Clouds GRR!!

Almost there!

Darn CLOUDS!!!

And BAM! There it is!

This was the eclipse from my backyard in Northwest Ohio!

Even though I didn’t have totality, it did get darker and cooler. It was a very cool thing to experience!

Can’t wait next time I hope to see totality!

So, I hope you enjoyed my photos! Drop me a line or share just give credit where credit is due!
