First Meal Tip Monday! I’m sharing an easy beef stew recipe with you.
This recipe only has 5 ingredients!
You just drop it all into the crockpot go to work or do your errands or just your daily chores and in 8 hours you will have a piping hot perfectly cooked beef stew with a kick!
This is a family favorite in my house I hope it becomes one in yours too!
First off gather up the ingredients!
1.5 lbs Beef stew meat
Now this doesn’t have to be exact. If you like meaty stew you can add more without changing any of the other ingredients. You can see I got my stew meat on mark down it only cost just under $3.50 for it.
2 cups potatoes
Again you can add more potatoes or you can also add carrots this is a very forgiving recipe. I like a lot of potatoes in my stew so I had 3.5 cups of potatoes. I can’t really add a value on this since I always have them but let’s say $1.00 for one large potato.
1/4 cup flour again how do you put a cost on this??
1 12oz pouch of Campbell’s slow cooker beef stew mix $2.00
Finally the kick!
1 28 oz can of Rotel diced tomatoes with green chiles mild $2.00
Put the meat in the crockpot add flour stir well till meat is well coated you can add some pepper if you like.
Then dump in the rest of the ingredients!
Stir to mix well. Then turn on the Crockpot to Low and leave it alone for 7-8 hours.
This will serve 3 adults, well 2 hungry men and me in my household and we usually have just enough left over for DS to take for lunch to work.
If you added it up to $8.50!
Really! That was the whole meal cost!
I buy the Campbell’s pouches when they are on sale 2/$4.00 which is often.
Same with the Rotel tomatoes they go on sale often. You could buy the smaller cans and add 2 if you’d like. I prefer the large can then I store the pouch and the can together so I can just grab them and go.
